How to Renew/Certify AAP NRP?

1. Online Exam $23.50

Complete the Online NRP exam (instructions below) at home. Download our study guide below. *If you need assistance with the NRP Online Exam, call us 866 266 2229. You can schedule a session with the instructor to assist you.

If you are certifying, you are still advised to complete the NRP exam at home, or contact us if you need assistance. Certification students can also schedule AAP NRP Certification Course which can help you with the online exam. For dates, click here.

2. Schedule NRP skills $105

The schedule below is for NRP skills.

Online NRP Exam

1. Register for the Online NRP Exam.

Go to the link below to create an account as a first time student. You will have to pay $23.50 to the AAP NRP for your online exam. REGISTER for Online NRP Exam WWW2.AAP.ORG/NRP You can also VIEW INSTRUCTIONS– how to register & pay for the online exam

2. FREE NRP Study Guide for Online Exam
The exam has 9 “lessons”. There is no material to review! You will be presented with the test questions right away. Use the study guide “BABY SAVER III” during the exam.
You have 2ATTEMPTS for each lesson. If you fail the SAME lesson twice, the entire NRP exam will be marked as FAILED.
Print 2 copies of your Certificate of Completion after you have passed ALL lessons. Bring a Copy of your Certificate to the NRP skills. The other copy you can keep as a certificate for 9 CEs.Download FREE NRP Study Guide for Online NRP Exam

3. Schedule NRP Skills
After completing the Online NRP Exam, schedule for AAP NRP Skills. Print your Certificate of Completion for the Online Exam and bring it with you.

Objectives

Upon completion of the neonatal resuscitation study guide the
participant will be able to:

  • Verbalize the risk factors that can help predict which babies will require resuscitation.
  • Verbalize and demonstrate the need to resuscitate.
  • Verbalize and demonstrate the use of the flow-inflating bag, self-inflating bag, and the T-piece resuscitator.
  • Verbalize and demonstrate effective chest compressions.
  • Verbalize and demonstrate intubation or assisting intubation
  • if applicable for your job.
  • Verbalize the medications used in neonatal resuscitation with the indications, route and dose for each.
  • Verbalize the special considerations and subsequent management of infants beyond the immediate newborn period or outside the hospital delivery room.
  • Verbalize the risk factor of infants born premature and the strategies to consider in their care.
  • Verbalize the ethical principles associated with end of life situations.
