Course DescriptionÂ
Topics that will be discussed include:
- Changes in the uterus, cervix, vagina, perineum, and breast
- The metabolic, endocrine, cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, renal, musculoskeletal, integumentary, and immune systems of the postpartum patient are explored.
- Postpartum hemorrhage is the leading cause of death among postpartum patients. Causes and interventions are important aspects to consider to prevent this occurrence.
- Thrombophlebitis, preeclampsia, infections and postpartum depression.
Goal: To provide a safe environment for patient-family centered care that is uncomplicated and promotes an overall stability, safety and outcome.
