Birth and Beyond Lactation Training
Sunday, September 22, 2019
8:00 am - 6:00 pm
The Baby Friendly USA Hospital Initiative is a global program. This initiative encourages the implementation of the Ten Steps To Successful Breastfeeding. In addition, this global program includes the International Code of Marketing of Breast Milk Substitutes. To illustrate, before a hospital can receive this prestigious accreditation, it must go through a rigorous and structured designation process. Training nurses in the skills needed to implement these policies has proven most challenging. Nurses should be compelled to examine, challenge and modify long standing policies regarding bottle feeding.
To summarize, in the Baby Friendly USA Birth and Beyond Lactation course the RN, or nursing student, will learn how to implement the 10 steps to successful breastfeeding. Topics covered include the risks of not breastfeeding and how to counsel families about the benefits of breast milk. Last but not least, students will learn how to assist mothers with proper positioning and latching, special considerations and much more.
Price: $200.00 (Textbook Included)
