Objectives

Part I

Upon completion of the Obstetrically Focused Treat the Beat³ -  Part I  the learner will be able to recognize and select appropriate drugs for the following rhythms:

©      Ventricular Fibrillation

©      PEA

©      Asystole

©      Sinus Bradycardia

©      1st, 2nd, 3rd Degree Blocks

©      Paced rhythm

©      Monomorphic VT

©      Polymorphic VT

©      Supraventricular Tachycardia

©      Torsades de Pointes

Upon the completion of Obstetrically Focused Treat the Beat³ – Part II the learner will be able to:

©         State key intervention to prevent an maternal arrest

©         State the appropriate patient position for CPR  for the maternal patient

©         State the reason for difficulty in airway management for the maternal patient

©         State the reason for ventilations of a maternal patient

©         State the appropriate hand placement for chest compression

©         State the ECG changes for magnesium toxicity

©         State the intervention for pulmonary embolism

©        State the intervention for amniotic fluid embolism

©        State the significance of aortocaval syndrome

©        State the reason for performing emergency C-Section in cardiac arrest

©       Discuss the importance of timing with Emergency C-Section

©       State the ECG changes with hyperkalemia

©      State she responsibilities of the physician, critical care nurse, neonatal nurse and respiratory therapist in an OB code event

©      State the responsibilities of the First, Second, Third and Fourth responders to an Neonatal  code event

©      State she responsibilities of the physician, critical care nurse, neonatal nurse and respiratory therapist in a Neonatal  code event
